I have a L4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling with CPCAB which was an Integrative Diploma so the counselling that I offer is tailored to the needs and issues each client may experience. I am an also a Registered & Accredited Counsellor with ACC.
I have also trained to become a Freedom Programme Facilitator which is a Domestic Abuse Education Programme, I also provide Domestic Abuse Education.
Counselling focuses on listening to you as a client and to enable you to talk about a difficulty and then to explore a way forward. The client will set the agenda and talk about whatever is troubling them in a warm, non-judgemental, accepting environment and the sessions are a way of creating space in your life to attend to issues, which may involve:
Bereavement and loss
Low Self Esteem
Change of life
I offer one to one, face to face counselling and the first session gives a client the opportunity of meeting me to see whether they feel comfortable in working with me, the opportunity to ask questions, clarify confidentiality, share any concerns and then to decide whether counselling is the best option to take. After this initial session it can then be decided whether short-term or longer-term therapy would be best.
Therapy sessions last for 50 mins and my fee is £40 per session (this can be paid at the beginning or end of each session) and I do offer some discretionary rates (depending on circumstances). Regular attendance is important to develop consistency in the counselling relationship and we would agree a set time and day each week to meet.
To ensure you receive the best possible service from me, I maintain monthly Professional Supervision (which is confidential) and I also undergo regular Continual Professional Development throughout the year.
